PT and Nutrition Coach with over 35 years of experience helping individuals improve their health, fitness, performance and confidence. Specialising in sports nutrition, strength training and lifestyle coaching, I provide tailored programmes designed to support sustainable results for all fitness levels.

As a qualified Sports Nutrition Coach and Menopause Coach, I support women through every stage of midlife with evidence-based nutrition and strength training strategies to improve body composition, energy, bone health and overall wellbeing.

I also specialise in HYROX competition preparation, offering structured training programmes and performance nutrition plans to help clients build strength, endurance and race-day confidence. I'm a regular HYROX competitor, racing all over Europe.

My approach combines experience, practical coaching and personalised support to help clients achieve long-term success both physically and mentally.

Pete Bedborough, personal trainer and boxing fitness coach

Pete is a personal trainer who adds interest and intensity to training sessions with boxing fitness. Expect varied, engaging sessions that build conditioning, coordination and confidence. Pete brings energy, motivation and a positive attitude to every session, creating challenging but enjoyable workouts that keep you progressing and coming back for more.

Holding a Black Belt in Kickboxing, Pete also competed in Mixed Martial Arts for over three years and spent two years competing in boxing. His experience in combat sports brings an extra level of skill, knowledge and authenticity to his training — helping clients improve fitness, learn new skills and build confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

    Tracey O'Brien is the team's HYROX specialist. She's a regular HYROX competitor racing all over Europe and offers structured HYROX programmes covering strength, endurance, the station work and performance nutrition. Tracey coaches HYROX prep both 1-2-1 in the Horley gym and as a complete online programme.

  • Who is the sports nutrition coach?

    Tracey O'Brien is a qualified Sports Nutrition Coach and Menopause Coach. She offers dedicated nutrition coaching alongside training — focused on body composition, energy, performance and women's health through midlife — using evidence-based strategies rather than fad protocols.

    Tracy Austin specialises in coaching the over-45s and that's where most of the founder's 20+ years of experience sits. The programmes focus on staying strong, mobile and independent — built around your body, your schedule and your starting point.

  • Can I switch between coaches at APT?

    Yes. The team operates out of one private gym, so it's straightforward to mix coaches in a week — for example a HYROX session with Tracey, a strength session with Tracy and a boxing-fitness session with Pete. We'll talk through what's right for your goals at the free consultation.

  • What is boxing-fitness training?

    Pete Bedborough delivers boxing-fitness sessions in the private gym — pad work, technique, conditioning and a serious stress release. Pete holds a Black Belt in Kickboxing and competed in MMA and boxing, so the sessions are authentic and well-coached, not just thrashing pads. No fight experience required.

  • Do you train competitive swimmers?

    Yes. Lucy Austin specialises in dry-land training for swimmers — building strength, power and resilience out of the pool. She brings 10+ years of competitive racing experience. Contact us to arrange a session as her hours are by appointment.
